Women’s Health Psychologist Atlanta
Women’s health and the psychological wellness of women have become more visible in recent years, and rightly so. When the field women’s health psychology first began to grow, it encompassed the treatment of women experiencing issues related to infertility, pregnancy and birth, breast health, and menopause. But there is just so much more. We have been told and taught repeatedly that “women can have it all,” but what does that really mean? What is the invisible mental load of “it all,” and what pressures are continually placed on us both internally and from the external world. Juggling our professional careers, relationships, children, families, our own personal health, who can understand this world and all the beauty and psychological complexity it can create?
Our practice specializes in understanding the journey of being a woman today and the psychology behind it. From adjusting to current life stressors, motherhood and all, relationship issues, postpartum depression and anxiety, fertility, grief/loss, corporate and professional growth, trauma, depression and anxiety, we understand, and you are in the right place. Finding time for yourself is hard enough, and Evolve Behavioral: Advanced Psych Services, wants to be a
convenient and accessible opportunity for you to take the time you need. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, we are here to support and encourage, push and collaborate. We are here to be an unbiased confidant with highly trained and expert professionals to provide women’s health psychological treatment. Treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness, existential therapy and more. Please reach out to learn more.
At Evolve Behavioral: Advanced Psych Services, we seek to create a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for women. A culturally sensitive, inclusive, judgment free space to explore what you hold most dear. In the past, women’s health has primarily focused on reproductive concerns, but there is much more to women’s health, including but of course not limited to: chronic illness, cancer, social issues, body positivity and body image, and overall wellness. It is with this knowledge that a women’s health psychologist can truly collaborate and help in the treatment of psychological stress as it affects women’s health. As health psychologists we are trained in the intersection between the mind and the body, but in going a step further, we also have unique training to address specific concerns and life experiences that only women can understand. This goes beyond the fundamental understanding of what it is like to be female within the world and the society we live in, and goes on to incorporate the health concerns that only women can understand and appreciate. Within our practice, we are happy to collaborate with your physicians/care teams related to women’s health issues and to provide integrative care. Your physical health and mental health are strongly interconnected, and a trained psychologist can recognize the importance of this connection.
