Grief & Loss Therapy Atlanta
Dr. Feit is a kind and caring clinician who works with each patient as a unique individual to provide personalized treatment. Highly recommend.
As a clinical health psychology specialty practice, grief/loss and adjustment is a core part of our treatment. Grief is misunderstood to be exclusively defined by death, grief is so much more. When we experience grief, we experience change and adjustment. Much of the adjustment is based on the inability to express an emotion towards something that no longer exists or has changed. Within the context of health and illness, we are faced with momentous change and thus we are faced with grief. So often we are asked to move on from the past in a jolting way, losing part of ourselves in the process, or even grieving what the future holds and the anticipation of what is to come. This change asks us to mourn what was, what is, and what will be, and that can be significantly challenging. We are here to help. A quote often used is “what is grief, if not love persevering.” Grief is the expression. Within therapy, we can help you understand your grief, where it comes from, how it manifests, how it is maintained and how to process it in a healthy and constructive way to your life. Change is hard, especially if we have not asked for it. Please contact us to learn more about grief therapy and how it may suit your needs.
